Romelia

Branding developed for the ethical jewellery label, Romelia. A project very dear to me that captures a snippet of the elements that come together to form the world of Romelia.

We aimed to capture the essence of our Nonna Romelia’s vibrant life. Among the Italian ephemera that adorned her house, there was a particular keyring we fondly remembered. This keyring, with its distinctive cut-out circle, inspired the idea for our logo. We experimented with various designs inspired by its use of shapes and strived to include this element in the final product.

The hole in the keyring is symbolic of the act of putting on a ring, an earring passing through a pierced hole and a necklace placed around the neck, which when unworn, also forms a hole. The concept also extends to represent themes of circularity, which is central to my sister’s practice. It embodies the idea of heirlooms and pieces meant to be worn through generations to come.
